Welcome to Seventh Avenue School

Seventh Avenue Elementary School is closed for the summer.  Our Principal, Mr. Ormsby, may be reached at Atlantic Avenue School; 856-547-0630.  District summer hours are 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  See you in September; it is going to be a spectacular 2016-2017 school year!

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OPENING WEEK INFORMATION:

The Haddon Heights Elementary Schools will open on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.  Students in grades kindergarten through six may arrive between 8:30 - 8:40 a.m.  Dismissal on September 7th will be 11:25 a.m. for kindergarten students and 12:45 p.m. for students in grades one through six.  The same schedule will be followed for Thursday, September 8, 2016.

 

Regular school hours will resume on Friday, September 9th.  Grades kindergarten through six may arrive between 8:30 - 8:40 a.m.  Dismissal for kindergarten students is at 11:25 a.m. and dismissal for grades one through six is 3:00 p.m. 

 

Early arrival will begin at all three elementary schools on Wednesday, September 7th, beginning at 7:30 a.m.  The cost is $6.00 per student or $8.50 a family per day. The Y.M.C.A. program will begin on Wednesday, September 7th and Kindergarten Aftercare will begin on Monday, September 12th.  Registration forms for these programs, along with pricing can be found on each Elementary School's eBoard.


GOLDEN TICKETS

Throughout the school year, students are awarded Golden Tickets for good deeds, acts of kindness, following school rules and more.  The class that collects the most Golden Tickets for the school year is awarded a special prize.

Classroom Visitation Days For Parents

  • Parent visits for grades 1, 2 and 3 are from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The parents may stay for lunch from 12:00 pm to 12:25 pm.
  • For grades 4, 5 and 6, parents may come for lunch from 12:25 pm to 12:50 pm and then visit the classroom from 12:50 pm to 1:50 pm.
  • Kindergarten classroom visit will be from 10:30 am to 11:25 am.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2017–2018 School Year

Kindergarten Registration will held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Glenview Elementary School from 9:00am to 11:00am. Please click here for more detailed information and required forms.  If there is inclement weather on February 15th and school is closed, the postponement date will be February 22, 2017 from 9:00am to 11:00am.  

If you miss this date, please go to Glenview Avenue School to register your child for Kindergarten.

NOTE:  No student will be registered or placed in a school until all paperwork has been submitted.

Aftercare Opportunities

Early Arrival Program (EAP) is available 7:30 - 8:30 AM each morning school is open at the normal time. (Not available on one-hour or two-hour delayed openings.)

Kindergarten Aftercare is available from 11:25 AM until 3:00 PM daily. Aftercare is not in session on November 23, 2016, December 23, 2016, and June 16, 2017. The Program begins on September 12, 2016.

YMCA Aftercare Program is available at Seventh Avenue school from 3:00PM until 6:30PM on full days and 12:45 - 6:30 on half days. This program is available for students in grades K-6.  Call Chelsea Burke at (609) 543-6200 x 301 for more details and forms. Students are accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Chelsea will inform you of prices and availability. The program is available the first day of school and everyday school is in session for students in grades 1 through 6. This program is available to kindergarten students beginning September 12, 2016.

School Closings

All school closings and delayed openings are listed on the district homepage at: www.hhsd.k12.nj.us.  Also available at myfoxphilly.com.  Each household will receive a call from our School Messenger System when these closings occur.



School Messenger

Seventh Avenue Elementary School is part of an automated calling system. This system has the capability to send phone messages to all elementary parents quickly. It will be used to notify parents of emergency school closings and other important events. If you are not receiving these phone calls, please contact the Main Office:  856-547-0610 ext. 1.


New Immunization Requirements

The State of New Jersey has made amendments to the State Sanitary Code, which establishes immunization requirements for children. These changes will require all children to receive additional immunizations. For more information, please CLICK HERE
