FRESHMAN ORIENTATION

On Tuesday, August 20th, was a four hour orientation for the students in this year's freshman class. It was very well attended as 200 of the 230 freshman participated in the orientation. For any students that were unable to attend, Mr. Martin, Vice Principal (grades 7-9), is available to those students and parents so they can receive the information that was discussed that day.

The day started with introductions of some administrators, staff members, student government members and National Honors Society (NHS) students. The freshman students then received their schedules, locks for their lockers, and broke into groups of 12. The Student Government and NHS students then took the groups on a tour of the building which included where their specific classes were located. Students then engaged in some team building activities. Following the activities they ate the provided lunch. Some administrators then shared some basic first day of school information and some other overall pertinent information with the students. After the discussion, the students went to the cafeteria where some coaches were available to share information about their sport. Some current players on the teams were there as well to talk to the students.
